Dental implants guide
3 min readImplant costs, alternatives and choosing a provider
Compare quotations, maintenance commitments, bridges, dentures and treatment abroad.
A headline price may cover only part of implant care. Assessment, scans, extractions, grafting, temporary teeth, the final restoration, sedation and reviews may be priced separately.
Compare the complete plan and aftercare arrangements, not only the initial price. Implants are usually private, with limited NHS provision for selected clinical circumstances. The provider must confirm any NHS eligibility or referral route.

What to discuss with your dental team
- Ask for a written itemised plan and the cost if healing fails or an extra stage is needed.
- Discuss bridge, denture and no-treatment alternatives where clinically reasonable.
- Check the treating professionals’ registration, experience, support arrangements and complaints process.

Frequently asked questions
Why do implant quotes vary so much?
The number of implants, grafting, restoration design, materials, team and included follow-up can differ. Compare like-for-like written plans.
Is the crown included in the implant price?
Not always. Ask separately about implant placement, connector, temporary tooth and final crown or bridge.
Can I get implants on the NHS?
NHS provision is limited to selected clinical circumstances and assessment criteria. Ask your dentist about a referral; Odenta cannot guarantee eligibility or funding.
Is a bridge always cheaper?
Not necessarily over the long term. Initial fees, tooth preparation, maintenance and replacement needs differ. Compare clinically suitable options rather than price alone.
Can I leave the gap alone?
Sometimes this is reasonable, depending on function, appearance, neighbouring teeth and bite. Ask about likely consequences and review needs.
Should I choose the cheapest overseas package?
Consider assessment quality, consent, travel, recovery, follow-up and who manages complications after you return. A low headline fee may not cover continuity or corrective care.
Can I get a second opinion before extractions?
Yes. Irreversible treatment deserves a clear explanation of alternatives. Request your records and allow time for an informed decision.
Will insurance pay for implants?
Coverage varies and may exclude cosmetic or pre-existing problems. Obtain confirmation from the insurer before assuming any reimbursement.
Does Odenta’s booking payment cover implant surgery?
Do not assume that. Review the actual offer and separate practice fees. Implant surgery requires a clinical plan and consent with the treating provider.
What happens if I cannot complete the treatment course?
Discuss this before starting. Ask about safe interim arrangements, maintenance, cancellation terms and the consequences of stopping between surgical and restorative stages.
